Spotted: iRiver's eReader Offering, The Story
Reports today reveal that iRiver is working on an ereading device called the Story.
Below are images of what is purportedly iRiver's addition to the eReader market. Dubbed the Story and packing a six-inch screen, Slashgear reports that the device will go on sale on September 16. Gizmodo's report on the product says the Story will hit the Korean market first as iRiver is still negotiating with publishers in the U.S. and Europe.
Display aside, Slashgear writes that the device will also have a full QWERTY keyboard and a memory card slot able to hold content up to 32 GBs. Compatible with PDF, epub, txt, ppt, doc and xls among others, Story users will be able to take advantage of over one million books Google just released for download in the epub format.
As for price? Rumor has it this thing will set you back around $300. Yikes!

It's good that they're support all those established formats, I'd just like to hope for no new, proprietary form of DRM tied to this product.
Sounds expensive yet but depending on what content is availble, maybe it is worth it after all?
Can I read PDF directly in the iRiver? That seems great but too expensive I think.
