3. The Prima Flip-Front Case Arrives

I dutifully noted that the case wouldn’t actually ship for a week or so while Prima carefully prepared it as a welcome home for my iPhone. Then on July 27th, the much desired case arrived.

I tore open the box and removed the case from its classy box, noting a definite smell of turpentine or some other solvent, which seemed to be an ingredient in the stain used to color the case’s leather body black. The box the case came in noted that the case had been "Made in China or India". This bit of information made it easier to understand that smell and I began to feel badly for the poor little underpaid kid or adult whose job it was to stain the leather, while working in some dark, ill ventilated factory in "China or India".

"Hey Gerber, that’s hardly humorous." I know, but I had to get it out so we could move on to the fun stuff.

After letting the case sit outside for a day, I popped my iPhone into it, closed the flip-front and secured it with the magnetic snap. The good news is that the phone fit into the case, nicely covering the display. The bad news is that the hole in the case for a headset plug is hopelessly out of line with headset jack on my phone. I mean, look at it.
