4. Pricey - But Worthwhile - Extras

As well as the internal extras such as an FM Radio and voice recorder, the Vision:M comes with a pricey A/C power adapter. While this may add to the final price of the product, the adapter is a welcome addition to a range of media players, which have in the past been totally reliant on USB for power as well as data transfer.

When you have a video unit that will drain its battery in the space of a movie or two, recharging off of the computer can be a pain. If the computer is not switched on there is no power to the USB ports, so if you're not using your computer for anything other than charging a media player, then it might be the most inefficient way of doing things if nothing else.

Also, most people buying media players these days are the tech-illiterate who frustrate Creative's marketing team whenever they go into a shop to ask for a "Creative iPod." Thus, offering a more familiar method of charging their units is probably a wise move. Recharging is also far faster on A/C, at around half the time it would take from USB.

On the less-expensive but never-the-less appreciated extras front there is the inclusion of a personal organizer which can even sync up to Microsoft Outlook. I'm not so sure about using the Vision:M as a dedicated PDA, but it's a feature that certainly goes down under the "Cool and maybe even useful for somebody" category.

In the "Cute" section is an alarm clock that you can set to wake you up with any song in your library.

There's also a composite output which allows you to send the Vision:M's music to a bigger stereo system, and there is also a Video Out connection. But how does she do for quality of playback, you ask?
