CoD: Black Ops Prestige Comes With RC Spy Car

- By - Source : Tom's Guide US

Spying has never been easier!

Last year Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched with a very special edition, called the Prestige Edition, that packed in working night-vision goggles.

For Call of Duty: Black Ops, Activision and Treyarch are trying to live up to that with an entirely original remote controlled surveillance vehicle inspired by the RC-XD from Black Ops Multiplayer. With a range of up to 200 feet, the RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle has a fully-functioning remote camera that transmits both TFT color video and audio to its operator. This package is expected to retail for $149.99.

For those with no interest in the RC car, but still want all the other goodies, can opt for the Hardened Edition, which includes a custom Black Ops limited edition medal, exclusive Black Ops Avatar (for Xbox Live or Home) outfit, as well as four playable cooperative maps. The Hardened edition should retail for $79.99.

Call of Duty: Black Ops will launch on November 9.

i'm getting bored with those COD games popping out every year.
Besides the single player story, MW2 was total disappointing, not to mention the "multiplayer" flop.
I'm not expecting anything from this new COD game, i just can't wait to play Medal of Honor instead.

That's pretty cool even if I'm not sure how much I'd care for the game...

How bout no gimmicks and just the game for $39.99. Do they think only kids play these games or what?
Are all these gimmicks just a cover up for a less than stellar game?

Oh by the way, I'm a 37 year old gamer with a great life, wife, AND kids.

I just want the car with a camera on it...can I get that without the game? I can imagine endless fun using this car to mess with my kids...

I'm sure people loved the night vision goggles for about 30 seconds.

There is two possible ways to look at this.

1. Who (over 17 and in addition to the CODBO game) wants a cheap POS remote control car that is going to take up closet space?

2. Who (over 17 and in addition to the remote control car) wants a cheap POS FPS that is going to take up HDD space?

insider3 :
Ur a 40 year old virgin with a pet hamster.

And the probability of you being an immature 12 year old is very high.

On another note, I never understood why people pay so much extra for just a few toys...

It does. I played for 15 minutes and never came back. I was even winning...
I want Battlefield 3. Not Bad Company 3, just BF3. Hopefully it gets a standalone engine, because the frostbite engine for PC is a absolute nightmare (hence the delay with updates to the PC version on BFBC2, and that they might not ever give us bots on PC).

CoD is a boring franchise to me. I also hate playing a game to only hear the screech of 13 year old boys whose voice hasn't matured yet. It's hard on my ears. Aren't they too young to play those games anyways? Get off my server.

I want full blown custom maps, the choice for either a dedicated server or to just host yourself (EA server for BF are terrible, and the lag on CoD6 is scary).

Screw Medal of Honor, screw Call of Duty, screw Bad Company.
Battlefield 3 please.

I dunno...COD Black Ops and an RC car with camera and audio is a cool toy for a $150, even if it is a POS RC car.

Especially when you consider that a low-end Traxxas or Tamiya by itself starts at +/- $100, let alone the cost of the controller and accessories; the COD Prestige Edition is a pretty good value for what you get.

Never cared for Medal of Honor. Long time CoD player, all of the versions for the PC until MW2, which I didn't touch due to lack of dedicated server support. (I'm in a MW Clan). Wonder if they will have PC versions of the Prestige Version or only X-box. They have promised dedicated servers. If nothing else the remote control would be fun to mess with our cats with.

I'm 41 and still play these games and I also have a life, own house paid off truck and kids. My 20 year old wouldn't even care for that bundle. Being older we tend to have better hardware and can play on bigger screens 3 x (2560 x 1600) with a 5970 using eyefinity. Mainly because we can afford the good stuff where most 20 somethings can't before you bash us older gamers. The pc version always gets the shaft with this stuff but at the same time much improved graphics over kiddie consoles.

Rubbish night vision binoculars with MW2 and now R/C car with this one? Looks like activision thinks COD is played by little crybabies who go for such garbage.

j/k
I don't understand the appeal of these "super collectors edition" type things. It's a waste of hard earned money if you ask me. Hell, $60 for a 360 game is a waste, let alone $80-$150.

I don't care a thing about all the extra crap, I just want the extra maps. They will charge an extra $15 somewhere down the road, so I guess I would be willing to pay the extra for the maps. Pre-ordered new MOH and didn't care for the multiplayer beta.
If you like Battlefield multiplayer, you will like MOH's. I guess I will finish the campaign and throw it on craigslist or ebay and recoup some of my money. Definately will pre-order the hardened edition. Its a shame I wont have the outfit before halloween.
