New Simon Cowell Reality Show to Find Next Bill Gates

Even if you're not a fan, no doubt you've at least heard about Simon Cowell's reality TV show franchises. From American Idol to X Factor, Cowell has been in the business a long time. However, rumor has it he's going to shake things up a bit with his next show. According to the Sun Newspaper, Will.i.am is partnering with Cowell on the project, which will focus on technolgoy. Speaking to the Sun, Will.i.am said, "We're working on a project called X Factor for Tech -- and it's going to be out of this world."

Cowell is best known for his American Idol series which aims to find the next big thing in the music business via public auditions and live elimination shows.  The Sun describes this new show as a search for the next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am told the Sun: "Singing and performance create a couple of jobs. But this will create lots. It's about getting in touch with youth and giving them a platform to express themselves — whether that's in science or mathematics."

Will.i.am revealed the project's existence while speaking at a tech conference in London but didn't offer any other details about the show. As a result, we're left wondering as to how the audition process will work or who the judges might be. With something like this, we imagine a Shark Tank/Dragon's Den approach might be more suitable, but we don't claim to be experts when it comes to finding talent.

  • seelsLol. The idea that you can find the next Steve Jobs is just foolish. Steve was an absolute thief who stole, revammped, and made this entire world a petent trolling place. He is surely missed by the sheep among us. No one could ever compete with Steve's patent portfolio full of other people's ideas and the ability to sue other competitors who inveted legitimate innovation into non existance, or his rre-hashed but well marketed Apple products he has caused legitimate harm to innovation around the world with.Sent from my collar and elash held by my corprate masters

  • Lol. The idea that you can find the next Steve Jobs is just foolish. Steve was an absolute genius who invented, innovated, and made this entire world a better place. He is surely missed by us all. No one could ever compete with Steve's intellect and visionary mindset for the future, or his revolutionary Apple products he has changed the world with.
