Samsung Ships 10,000,000 Galaxy S2 Handsets
Samsung has announced that it has shipped 10 million Galaxy S2 units.
Back in July, Samsung announced that it had shipped a massive five million Galaxy S2 units despite the fact that the phone had yet to even launch in the United States. A couple of months on and shipments are evidently still strong, as Samsung has revealed that it has since doubled July's numbers. Speaking via an official press release, the company said the number of channel sales has now reached 10 million.
"Since its launch in late April 2011, the GALAXY S II has seen continued sales success, demonstrating Samsung’s industry-leading capabilities in - and commitment to - the smartphone market," said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung's Mobile Communications Business.
While it's important to note that 'channel sales' don't necessarily translate to customer sales, the fact that Samsung has shifted 10 million Galaxy S2s is impressive and indicates a high level of demand for the handset. The Galaxy S2 hit the United States earlier this month, following an August unveiling. There's some slight design variations depending on the network (as you can see in the image above), and Sprint has dubbed it the Epic 4G Touch, but other than that, it's the same phone on all three networks.

Well done Samsung!
samsung: 1, apple: 0
Along with a crappy Yamaha MC 1-N2 audio chip. Had to be said!
The phone is amazing but the software needs some polishing, the audio is too low.
This is my next phone!
Apple will soon sue for Samsung for patent infringement concerning the use of the words "has been continued Sales Success". Apple feels these words infringe on it's press releases. Samsung will soon start releasing it's press announcement in heiroglyph's to avoid said infringement.
Toms, I have a patent on a method of displaying cell phone differences on a website by placing them from left to right, facing the camera. Remove this picture or I will send my lawyers after you!
I have one, loving it more and more every day

And I have one on a method of displaying cell phone differentes on a website by placing the Right to left, which your patent lawyers have failed to change in my cease and desist letter I sent them a month ago.
I have a patent on displaying any photos of cell phones on a website. So I demand $10,000,000 in damages.
I moved from the Nexus S, to the S2G as my current phone.
I can vouch for its prowess; although if I were in the market for a new phone today, I would definitely look for higher resolution screens.
I hope the Nexus Prime has the 1280x720 res like their SGSII HD they released in Korea. Was going to plop down and get the SGSII but there are so many other phone just on the horizon. Larger battery is a plus, my Nexus S doesn't cut it for me.
Well if the made ten million of them, they should be able to sell them for $5 apiece, right?
Does it have hdmi on it?
Samsung has no commitment to the mobile market but commitment to profit, for example if you have owned a mobile phone NOT from the galaxy family you will notice the scarce support, like the I8000 Omnia II phone which was a very expensive phone but with 1% of the support a galaxy phone gets.
Samsung wants profits, thats why they exist.
This anything like their Tablet announcement in the spring where they shipped millions and sold in the hundred thousands?
And they say China is Over Populated?
This must be the craziest flooding of a product that I have seen, what a sheer waste.
My suggestion don't buy a single one for the next 2 Months and see how the drop the prices to a quarter of what they are.
Big mistake.......

....and which electronics/tech company doesn't exist for profit?
They are made & shipped from China with (free of charge) led based paint, so all users will get ear herpes and their ears will fall off. Then they will be forced to use tablet products. Apple will file a lawsuit on Samsung claiming it was their idea first.
Does anyone know where I can get this design in UK? I hate the iPhone copy they released here.
The Galaxy S2 is a spectacular phone. It does not have HDMI output, nor does it have a 720p Screen. Keep your eyes out for the Nexus Prime / Galaxy S3 / I-9250.
who doesn't need profit, apple makes more than 7 times profit a laptop hp sells (that would be around 350$ !!!)
Love GS2 so much! :-)
wish i could buy it too expensive where i live

Why do you downrate him? Yamaha's chip is utter crap compared to the Wolfson SGS1 had. Some of us value sound fidelity.
The S2 has HDMI via adapter. The S2 and the iPhone are both copies of the LG Prada. The Galaxy S released last year had a home button in the UK and 4 buttons in the US. I think it's a US carrier thing. The Samsung F700 also had the square home button. The iPhone and the Samsung F700 came out a month apart. You cant copy a phone in a month. Funny that motorola didnt sue anyone for coping their Flip phone idea. It's called market trends and it happens every day all over the world for the last 100 years starting way before the Ford model T. The S2 will be mine on Oct 2nd!!! Also I hold the patent for posting on a blog so everyone here owes me $250,000,000,000. I take Paypal.
Apple could learn a few things from Samsung about good phone design.
Great Phone but Touchwiz ruins Android.
I for one seriously doubt this myself. 5 million when not launched in the States, and 5 million more since then all across the world seems unlikely.
