GSM Palm Pre 2 Now Available from HP for $450
Can I interest anyone in an unlocked GSM Pre 2?
A couple of weeks ago, Tim Pettitt, product manager for HP-Palm, revealed that a GSM version of the Pre 2 would be "available direct from HP.com." Though this was welcome information, Pettitt didn't elaborate on when we could expect to see the device on HP's website. Similarly, though the Pre 2 is already available in Europe, HP and Palm had yet to announce a U.S. release date.
Well, today they're killing two birds with one stone, as that unlocked Pre 2 has just shown up on HP's website and the ship date is listed as 'within 24 hours.' We all know unlocked handsets are expensive but the Pre 2 is actually selling at a price that's just a smidgen cheaper than we're used to seeing. You can get your hands on this hot, WebOS 2.0 action for a respectable price of $449.
In case you need reminding, the Palm Pre 2 packs a 1GHz CPU; the same 3.1-inch, 320x480 HVGA display as the first Pre; a 5-megapixel camera; 16GB of storage (not expandable); Wi-Fi 802.11b/g with WPA, WPA2, WEP, 802.1X authentication; Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with A2DP stereo Bluetooth support; and of course, HP's WebOS 2.0.

Not interested...3.1" screen? That's just too small, even if the resolution is half-respectable.
I'm curious for the sales number of this phone in 6 months, up against the stiff competition from Android and Apple.

HP palm, android version, Yes!
No androind, hmmm.... no.
I'd like to see this fail. Hard. Vendors need to learn to stop releasing the most mediocre hardware ever.
all this time waiting... and we get 1Ghz (my pre is overclocked to 1.1 >_
I'm waiting for my $250 completely unlocked developer Palm Pre 2. Seemed like an awesome deal to me. I always had a soft spot for the Palm WebOS. Once I get it, time to fire up the SDK and get rolling. I'll probably be one of the only Palm Pre 2 units on AT&T.
