Report: Nintendo 3DS Launching Nov. 20 in Japan

- By - Source : Tom's Guide US

If accessory designers are to be believed, Japanese fans awaiting Nintendo's 3DS may see a November launch.

Nintendo has been as clear as mud about its plans to launch the handheld 3DS. Unveiled at E3, the company initially said it wouldn't launch until the spring of next year. However, later reports revealed that the company could be planning a 2010 launch for Japan.

According to some Japanese tweets from a video game accessories designer using the @nocchisan Twitter name, accessories for the successor to the Nintendo DS will be available late in November. Nocchisan revealed to his followers that 11 accessories he designed for the 3DS would hit on November 20 and according to the Nintendo 3DS Blog said, "Those of you buying the 3DS, please buy them while you’re at it!"

The tweet was then deleted and replaced with one that implied the accessories would be released at the same time as the 3DS, but failed to highlight any date. The account has since been deleted.

Translation of the tweet via Nintendo 3DS Blog:

"OIRA is designed to place 20 11 11 3DS product will be released simultaneously for the product."

Nintendo plans to announce pricing and release date on September 29, so we should know the truth by the end of the month.

Depending on the graphics, I might actually buy this. Would be my first Nintendo product.

Ok dude whoever said nintendo needs too work on game play your way off. They have for years worked on game play and not graphics that mainly why they have been hurting in the past. For some reason after the ps 1 every gamer fell into this I need movies and great graphics to play a game which is bogus. The 3DS will be great and with oOT and star fox this will truly be a portable with great game play. It's nintendo people they brought Mario and Zelda and return gaming to America after the great gaming depression of the early 1980s! Lol

Shadow703793 :
3D is over rated imo. It's just a gimmick. Devs should focus more on game play and content. No matter if the game has 3D or not, it won't sell if it has $hitty content and gameplay.

Why do so many people say 3D is over rated. The real world is 3D so gaming in 3D is a logical transition. It's like saying coloured tvs are overrated.

What's really overrated are computer mice with 1 only button and the computer it's attached to.

Because it's not real 3D but just an optical illusion that causes headaches and looks fake most of the time :D

3D it's overrated because they only impresses who don't know anything about it. If you dig and see it's just optical illusion that causes headaches you see what shit you buy for high prices and you see you're so angry with yourself for buying that crap.

Hold up.
"20 11 11"
Doesn't that imply "20th November, 2011"?

Price dropped already on the DSi systems. I'm hoping for sub-$200 on this one. May have to wait for them to get some kinks out as well.

Will Nintendo new gaming system the 3DS use 128 bit technology? Better yet, making far more superior with 256 bit technology. Madden football will look quite appealing and more pleasing for this football geek.

If Nintendo releases the 3DS in 128 bit or 256 bit, it might sell more consoles. I heard that the 3DS will still be 96 bit, which isn't a gradual improvement over the previous model. Since, Sony is coming out with a 128 bit portable playstation, Nintendo should capitalize on Sony's new hand held console. Nintendo should still have an edge because Sony is making unreliable products.
