VIDEO: A Tour of Android Ice Cream Sandwich

- By - Source : Engadget

I scream, you scream ...

With Ice Cream Sandwich set to arrive in the next month or so, we still don't know much about the next build of Android. We know that Google's aim is to mix Gingerbread and Honeycomb to create an OS that will offer a seamless experience on both tablets and smartphones, but we're eager to know more about what kind of features the OS itself is going to bring.

Well, today is our lucky day as an eBay buyer has posted a two-minute video tour that shows off some aspects of Ice Cream Sandwich. The story goes that this person ordered a Samsung Nexus S on eBay and was shocked to discover that the phone arrived with Ice Cream Sandwich already installed. Though skeptics would be forgiven for thinking this is all a hoax using nothing more than a custom ROM, Engadget reports that the user's phone was remotely locked and wiped shortly after the video got out.

Check out the demo video while it's still available:

Not that I'm too interested in Android, but I do feel bad his phone (that he bought) was wiped clean.

Hoax. The wiped clean story proved it in my opinion. There are no provisions in any Android ROM google has released to date that would allow the deletion of the ROM itself. Therefore, a "remote wipe" should merely wipe user data, and google would know this, so why bother doing it?
I'll also point out there was no technical details such as kernel version and the like displayed, and all that was shown was a custom theme, launcher and camera.
Nice ROM all in all though, even if it is a fake.
