If there is one shoe we love for cushioning, it is the Brooks Glycerin Max. You can see it in our guide to the best running shoes if you want to check how highly we rate it. That is why I was particularly excited to see it on sale at Amazon right now, with Cyber Monday deals spilling into the end of the week.

With a 25% discount, you can pick up a pair of the Brooks Glycerin Max for $149 instead of the usual $199. If you are new to running and want something comfortable and reliable, or you are more experienced and looking for a cushioned shoe to look after your legs on long or recovery runs, the Glycerin Max is a great option.

The men’s deal includes three colorways: a grey and olive green option, a bright lime version, and a grey and black pair. The same 25% discount applies to the women’s shoe, available in two colors — a purple and pink option, and a dark blue and coral pair. Thankfully, all sizes were in stock at the time of writing, but that can change quickly, so if you fancy a pair, I'd recommend you move fast.

So why do we rate the Brooks Glycerin Max so highly in the world of cushioned running shoes? It delivers an impressively high stack height, which means you get plenty of cushioning and shock absorption. The midsole uses Brooks’ nitrogen-infused DNA Tuned foam with larger foam cells in the heel for softer landings and smaller, denser cells in the forefoot for a more responsive push-off. The rocker-shaped GlideRoll geometry also helps create a smooth transition from heel to toe and makes each stride feel easier.

Out of the box, it can look and feel a little bulky, but once you start running the plush ride and stable platform come into their own. It fits true to size, feels high quality, and provides a secure hold around the foot and ankle. From testing, the cushioning feels protective without being overly soft, and the shoe settles in nicely after a few runs.

If comfort, protection and an easy, rolling stride are your priorities, the Glycerin Max is one of our favorite cushioned running shoes of 2025.
