It was only a matter of time until Microsoft's flagship "Halo" series made its way to the Xbox One, and now it's official. Launching Fall 2015, "Halo 5: Guardians" will continue the journey of Master Chief and company for the first time on Microsoft's new-generation console.
Not much is known about "Halo 5" yet, but developer 343 Industries is promising a sci-fi first-person shooter that's bigger in scope than "Halo 4." While there aren't any official screenshots yet, the game's box art shows franchise hero Master Chief alongside what looks to be a new Spartan protagonist.

"We’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen," said 343 Industries general manager Bonnie Ross.
2015 will also mark the debut of the official "Halo" TV series, which 343 notes will complement the game experience.
"Halo 5: Guardians" won't technically be the first "Halo" game on Microsoft's new console, as the publisher recently ported over its "Halo: Spartan Assault" mobile game for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. The most recent core game in the franchise is 2012's "Halo 4" for Xbox 360, which is the first game in the series developed by 343 Industries. Meanwhile, original "Halo" studio Bungie has been hard at work prepping the highly anticipated shooter "Destiny" for this fall.
With E3 only weeks away, we're hoping to see more of "Halo 5" during the big show. Stay tuned for our coverage.
