Save up to £840 on our favourite Simba mattress in today's Black Friday sales
A double Simba Hybrid Ultra drops to £1,609 in rare 30% off Black Friday deal
Black Friday is here and Simba just dropped and rare (and excellent) sale: save up to £840 on the Simba Hybrid Ultra at Simba. That brings the price of a double down to £1,609 from £2,299. That's an enormous saving that knocks last year's 25% saving out of the park.
We've tested 120+ mattresses in our quest to bring you the best mattresses on the market — and the Simba Hybrid Ultra is one of them. It earned a near-perfect score during testing, with our lead tester describing the 11-layer luxury bed as offering full-body support.
It's still an investment, even in today's sale. However, with Black Friday mattress sales in full swing, now is the best time to buy. Is the Simba the right mattress for you? Let's take a closer look...
The Simba Hybrid Ultra scored top marks in our Simba Hybrid Ultra mattress review, with our testers finding it breathable, comfortable and supportive for all sleepers. This Black Friday, the mattress is heavily discounted in the Simba mattress sales, taking a double down to £1,609.30 (was £2,299) and you'll also get a 200-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping. Old mattress removal is available for a small fee.
Should you buy the Simba Hybrid Ultra?
Providing you have the budget for it, there's very little negative to say about the Simba Hybrid Ultra. The medium firm feel offers plenty of cushioning comfort for pressure points, making it an ideal fit for side sleepers who need a certain amount of sink-in support to prevent pain building up.
However, it's also supportive enough for back and stomach sleepers, with two layers of coils and supportive foam keeping the spine aligned and hips lifted. You won't sink into the Simba, but rather feel it gently adapting around your body as needed.
The Simba Hybrid Ultra has a bouncier feel than many hybrids and, while they were awake, our tester could feel their partner moving around in bed. However, they weren't disturbed at all while asleep and the motion isolation is sufficient for light sleepers not to be disturbed. Plus, a responsive layer makes it easier to shift positions.
There's a little squishiness when sitting on the edge of the bed but a superior build underneath means edge support is excellent and you'll be able to use the full width of the bed and sleep on it safely (or sit before standing).
However, the real star of the show is Simba's temperature regulation, which scored full marks in our testing. With open cell foam infused with graphite, a cotton cover and natural materials such as bamboo and wool, the Simba kept our testers cool throughout the night.
Smaller budget? Try this deal instead...
The Origin Hybrid is a great option for those with a smaller budget, with a double reduced to £345 from £477 in the Origin mattress sales. You'll also get one free pillow, a 200-night trial, 15-year warranty, and free shipping and old mattress removal. The Origin is ideal for stomach and back sleepers, but side sleepers may find it a little too firm.

What Jo doesn't know about a boxed mattress isn't worth knowing, so naturally we tasked her with producing a series of features for Tom's Guide looking at all aspects of mattresses, from how to pick between latex and memory foam (it's a tricky one), to the seven mistakes people make when buying a mattress for the first time. When testing the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid for Tom's Guide, Jo said: "I loved the back support and pressure relief it offered. Plus, it looks far more expensive than it is." When she isn’t writing about sleep, Jo also writes extensively on interior design, home products and photography.
