LiberNovo goes big, adding big & tall Maxis model to its lineup along with two more options
LiberNovo made a splash when it launched the LiberNovo Omni, a dynamic office chair with ergonomics that adapts to its users' movements. The Greenguard-certified Omni was such a success, it earned a Red Dot Product Design award and iF Design Award for 2026. But the company isn’t resting on its laurels. It’s following up the Omni with two new versions, along with an all-new model for tall users.
Meet the LiberNovo Maxis
The ideal office chair can fit a wide range of users, but it’s virtually impossible to account for everyone, and bigger and taller users can get left out. That’s especially true with ergonomic seats, which heavily rely on a good fit for them to properly function. This is where the LiberNovo Maxis rolls in. This chair takes the expertise LiberNovo demonstrated with the Omni and adapts it to better support users from 5’10” to 6’7” and up to 399 pounds. This isn’t just a scaled-up model, though. After all, big and tall people aren’t simply scaled up from smaller people. Instead, LiberNovo engineered the Maxis from the ground up for larger users to provide solid ergonomics and address common pain points, such as armrests that dig into users sides, misaligned posture support, floppy recline mechanisms, and inadequate seat and back support.
You’ll still find the core features of the Omni retained in the Maxis, such as the Dynamic Support System elements that automatically adapt and shift with your body. Since you naturally move around in your chair throughout the day, having a chair that seamlessly follows your movements lets you enjoy consistent support and avoid the need to frequently adjust the armrest, backrest, and headrest.
The LiberNovo Maxis has the brand's signature Bionic FlexFit Backrest and an optional electric lumbar support function to keep you comfortable as you move about in your seat. That electric lumbar support also has a motorized massage mode. The headrest can adjust 140mm vertically and 120mm horizontally, ensuring proper support of your head, and the backrest is expanded to better support tall backs and broad shoulders, helping relieve pressure on the hips and lumbar. These changes help avoid big pitfalls of smaller ergonomic chairs, which won’t correctly align with bigger bodies and can actively encourage bad postures that lead to discomfort, pain and stiffness. The LiberNovo Maxis’s armrests curve around users to avoid pressure on the waist, while also offering a wide range of adjustment to support different arm lengths and offer ergonomic alignment with desks.
To help support bigger and taller users, the LiberNovo Maxis has a deeper, 52cm seat cushion. This provides more coverage for the thighs, spreading the user's weight out more evenly to reduce pressure. That extra depth avoids that awkward overhang common on smaller seats where longer legs stick out well past the end of the seat. And when it’s time to kick back a little, the Maxis supports several different recline levels and the ability to lock into five different angles (up from four), all the way back to 160 degrees. Heavier users can sometimes struggle with loose backrests that tilt back too quickly, so LiberNovo has integrated a 6-Spring Controlled Recline System to support them with a more controlled recline.
LiberNovo will offer the Maxis in three versions: One with manual lumbar support, one with an electric lumbar support, and a special Maxis Airflow model. The Maxis Airflow model adds a new premium material, Danish Gabriel Atlantic fabric, to the chair for an extra-breathable seat supplemented by a built-in fan under the seat to provide airflow through the cushion.
New versions of the LiberNovo Omni: SE and Pro
Beyond the new Maxis model, LiberNovo is expanding its Omni lineup. The LiberNovo Omni SE and Omni Pro still feature the special ergonomics and comfort that made the Omni a success, but with improvements on each model. The Omni SE simplifies the package for users who don’t shift around as much, opting for manual lumbar support, and offers the new recline mechanism from the Maxis for more locking recline angles. The Omni Pro also gets this upgraded recline mechanism, but keeps the automatic lumbar support. From there, the Omni Pro adds the breathable Danish Gabriel Atlantic fabric and ventilation fan from the Maxis Airflow model. The Omni Pro also upgrades its materials to include a high-grade aluminum alloy base.
