Hi Strands fans, and Happy New Year. Today's puzzle wasn't too tough, once I'd realized the pun in the title. While I knew that "joe" is slang for coffee in America, it's not widely used in the UK, which led me to initially think this was about outstanding qualities in a person.
That led me to find SMOOTH in the bottom-left corner. It took me no further, however, and I used a clue to reveal BOLD. While this could describe a person, the two answers combined to help me find the spangram of COFFEE, and I was away.
I found AROMATIC below the spangram (not a flattering adjective if describing a person!) and VELVETY in the bottom-right corner to complete the half.
I then found STRONG above the spangram, followed by NUTTY spelt backwards above it. That just left BITTER in the top-right corner to complete the puzzle.

“One good turn deserves another”

Hi Strands fans. I was on much safer (and less grumpy) ground today. I managed to complete Strands #668 without resorting to any clues.
The theme of "One good turn deserves another" wasn't exactly helpful, but finding CIRCLE in the second row set me up nicely. I then found the spangram of ROUNDANDROUND encircling it to set me on the right track.
Next, I located PIROUETTE in the bottom-right corner, followed by SPIN and ORBIT immediately above it.
Two words were left to find on the left-hand side. I found WHIRL at the top, and then ROTATE below it to complete the puzzle without fuss.
