iPad Pro M5 tipped for a big performance boost — and these leaked benchmarks seemingly confirm it
Geekbench 6 results seemingly confirm 12GB of RAM and a faster chipset

Thanks to a string of recent leaks, it seems all but certain the iPad Pro M5 is on the way, with a bunch of major hardware upgrades — including the new M5 chip and at least 12GB of RAM. Now it seems leaked Geekbench 6 benchmarking results have corroborated these changes.
The results published on the benchmarking site show the iPad model has 11.2GB of memory with 256GB of storage, which is an upgrade from the 8GB of RAM we saw last year. There's also a 9-core CPU with a 4.42-GHz clock speed. Those are the same chip specs found in the 256GB and 512GB iPad Pro M4 variants, though benchmarking tests do show a marked improvement.
The single-core test scored 4,133, which is an 11.7% increase on the iPad Pro M4's 3700 score. Meanwhile, multi-core testing produced a score of 15,437, a 6.2% increase over the 14,523 we recorded on the M4 iPad Pro.
Header Cell - Column 0 | iPad Pro 2025 (rumored) | iPad Pro 2024 |
---|---|---|
Geekbench (single-core) | 4,133 | 3,700 |
Geekbench (multi-core) | 15,437 | 14,523 |
While we can't see what's happening with other iPad Pro M5 models, we can safely assume that the 1TB and 2TB storage variants will get a performance boost. Last year's models saw those tablets come with 16GB of RAM and an additional performance core in the CPU. We'd expect that the new M5 models will offer a similar kind of upgrade.
Whether we'll see increased memory or improved processor specs isn't clear, but we should still see noticeably better performance on both models either way.
Sadly, though, it isn't clear what is happening with the rumored second front camera lens. The unboxing video leaks don't seem to show a second lens, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests there is a possibility the feature may have been pulled at the last minute.
The reporter notes that he can "say with certainty that M5 iPad Pros within Apple have the second lens." However, he notes that Apple does have a history of testing new features into very late stages of development, before unceremoniously scrapping them. He refers to older iPad models that were rumored to come with different storage capacities and the second dock connector that was pulled from the original iPad.

However, Gurman does not think that pulling a second front camera "would be a strange, last-minute cut."
So we'll just have to see what happens during the official iPad Pro M5 launch — which could easily happen sometime later this month.
