I've taken some of my best aerial images on the DJI Mini 5 Pro and it'll take your videography to the next level too — it's the only drone I recommend buying this Presidents' Day

Presidents' Day is almost upon us, and many retailers introduce massive discounts on lots of products this time of the year. As someone who reviews the best drones for a living, I'm always looking out for deals on quadcopters, and for the first time, the best mini drone has been discounted — and by a lot, too. The DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo is currently 31% off at Amazon, so you can save $500 on it right now.

This is the biggest discount I've seen on DJI's flagship drone, one that launched only in October of last year. I've thoroughly flown and reviewed the Mini 5 Pro and I'm here to tell you that this is the only drone you need to buy — especially given that future DJI drones may not be authorized to be released in the U.S.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro sets a new standard for safety and imaging quality in mini drones. With omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and forward-facing LiDAR, the drone is capable of returning home even without GPS. It introduces a few notable upgrades as compared to its predecessor: a 1-inch sensor for improved low-light performance, 225° gimbal rotation, all while retaining a compact form factor.

The Mini 5 Pro is a formidable mini drone, and as it weighs 8.81oz, you don't necessarily need to register it with the FCC to fly it. It takes incredible aerial videos and images with its large 1-inch sensor (seen for the first time on a mini drone), and it offers up to 14-stops of dynamic range for better low-light performance and freedom in post-production.

When it comes to image and video quality, the Mini 5 Pro doesn't disappoint. It captures beautiful and highly detailed 50MP images as well as smooth and stable 4K/60fps video. This is further bolstered by the drone's three-axis mechanical gimbal and ability to withstand winds up to 12 m/s (26.84mph), so you can fly in quite windy conditions without impacting video quality.

For beginner drone pilots and even veterans, the Mini 5 Pro packs a host of safety features, such as omnidirectional obstacle avoidance supplemented with forward-facing LiDAR which means that drone can detect objects even in low-light environments. It can even return home when there's no GPS!

In addition to all of this, the Mini 5 Pro borrows the 225° rotating gimbal from its bigger (and pricier) sibling, the Mavic 4 Pro. This enables flexible and dynamic camera movement as well as wide-angle rotation, which gives you lots of creative flexibility when shooting video or snapping images.

If there's only one drone you buy this Presidents' Day — or this year, even — make it the Mini 5 Pro. It's my favorite mini drone (and I've tested nearly all of them), and I can't recommend it enough if you want best-in-class image and video quality as well as safety features.

The Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo includes the RC-2 touchscreen controller, three Intelligent Flight Batteries, a shoulder bag, and more goodies. Right now, it's the cheapest it has even been — yes, even cheaper than Black Friday — and you can grab it for just $1,099 at Amazon!
