Verizon has become the nation’s 10th largest cable provider in the nation, claiming that it has convinced more than 1 million people to sign up for its FiOS TV service in a little over two years.
Launched in September of 2005, Verizon said it has added 736,000 new TV customers during 2007, ending the year with an installed base of 943,000. The company noted that it currently has more than 1.5 million FiOS Internet subscribers.
The company said that its service is currently marketed in 13 states with a subscriber potential of about 5.9 million homes.
