3. What's Inside The Dell XPS M1710 (Photos)
Let's take a whirlwind tour of the Dell XPS M1710's innards. Thanks to TG Publishing's Max Wilson and Sebastian Veltze for the raw images.
Most of the key components of the M1710 lie under the keyboard deck.
With the keyboard deck removed major components of the M1710's cooling system are exposed. The large metal rectangle to the left is part of the cooling system for the Nvidia daughterboard. The X-shaped component to the right is part of the cooling system for the 945PM Northbridge chip and the CPU.
Here is the daughterboard that contains and supports the Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics processor.
