Finetech Japan 2008: Sony Wants To Outpace LCD TV Market Growth
While the LCD TV market is growing fast, Sony will seek to outpace the market growth by resorting to massive investments and technological differences that will allow the company to maintain an overwhelming amount of shipments, according to Hiroshi Yoshioka, who heads the company’s TV division. Yoshioka, speaking at Finetech Japan 2008, remarked that in 2008, the global LCD TV market size will be 108 million units, of which 42 million units will belong to the 37-inch-and-larger segment.
