Sharp LCD TVs Slimmer and Energy Efficient
Sharp recently announced its outlook for this year’s business, emphasizing that its LCD TV technology revolution will highlight ultra-thin models and energy-saving functions. Sharp estimates that global demand for LCD TVs in the Japanese 2007 fiscal year will total 74 million units, over two million units more than the company previously predicted, while the company estimated demand for LCD TV in the Japanese 2008 fiscal year will reach 96 million units, more than 10% lower than forecasts made by Digitimes Research for the same time period.
