10. Swiss+Tech Micro-Pro EX 9-in-1 W/USB Flash Drive Utili-Key

Connoisseurs of Swiss Army Knives know that there's always some amazing demo version of these tools under development back at the factory, stuffed with hundreds of blades and other exotic attachments. But while such over-the-top implements may warm the hearts of collectors, real men and women need something useful they can slip onto a key ring without having to attach an extra pocket or carrier to keep tools on hand at all times.

The Swiss+Tech multi-tools have long been recognized as offering a great combination of capability, durability and value. This particular model swaps out the pen light or digital clock included in other 11-in-1 models for a standard format USB 2.0 flash drive in capacities that range from 128 MB to 1 GB (with prices that vary accordingly). The USB drive includes an LED indicator that flashes when the device is connected, and indicates when the flash RAM is being accessed. A write protect switch is also provided, which prevents new files from being stored and protects existing files from being erased or overwritten.

In addition to 9 mini hand-tools, you also get a USB flash drive in one portable package.

The key fob that clips onto your key ring also doubles as the cover for the male USB socket on the flash drive, which is indented to receive the rest of the multi-tool package. A quick twist of the legs that lock into either side of the flash drive releases the tool for separate use. The entire exterior is made of solid stainless steel, as is the multi-tool itself, and is both sturdy and attractive.

The multi-tool itself includes the following elements:

The tools are small, but sufficiently well-engineering to be useful when faced with minor repair or assembly/disassembly tasks. This multi-tool makes a peachy addition to any IT professional's keychain, because it brings a USB Flash drive together with so many usable hand tools in a compact package. The premium for the USB drive is rather pricey, so stick to smaller drives - or look for other versions of the 11-in-1 that include a clock or pen light instead.
