12. Powerplay - Now It Works!
ATi groups all features relating to extending battery life under the heading "Powerplay".

In a previous review of the MR9600 we already described how Powerplay works and what factors can be influenced using it in great detail. If you are interested in the bigger picture, we recommend reading our article DirectX9 To Go, Part II: ATi's Mobility Radeon 9600.

Using these three sliders, the user can influence the power consumption and the performance of the GPU.
Sadly, the Powerplay functionality did not work on the notebooks we have previously tested or wasn't supported by the graphics driver. Understandably, we were eager to take this opportunity to see what an influence the different Powerplay settings have on frame rates and battery life.
