The World's Easiest Jailbreak is Back (With iPad 2)

By - Source: Tom's Guide US

Just a webpage away from freedom!

Once upon a time, all it required to jailbreak your Apple device was to simply visit a webpage and hit the go button. Since then, the jailbreaking process has ranged between as simple as that to building a custom firmware package for a full software restore.

Now, thanks to the work of iPhone hacker comex, the JailbreakMe.com website is back and is able to jailbreak the following devices:

  • iPad1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPad2: 4.3.3
  • iPhone3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPhone4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
  • iPhone4-CDMA: 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
  • iPod touch 3g: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
  • iPod touch 4g: 4.3 through 4.3.3

The exploit once again takes advantage of a PDF security vulnerability in order to inject the jailbreak code. Apple will no doubt patch this hole, perhaps even before the release of iOS 5.

Read the full details here.

The only reason this is awesome, is because I can once again go to an AT&T/apple store and jailbreak all of their demo devices.

They should have waited until iOS 5 came out before they released this.

Apple will patch this and any other existing exploits before iOS 5 is released

Don't worry they will just find more. Windows patches every month and still there are new exploits every month.

Maybe Apple will be so ignorant for fixing this exploit.

Well... the jailbreak works fine. It's fast and efficient but I still have one problem: my iPad is still as useless as it was before the jailbreak. The only useful thing i saw on the Cidya appstore is tje disable lockscreen feature (it's actually quite incredible that this was not a setting in IOS).

Now it's time for Apple to blame Adobe for crashing the iOS again. Next they will remove PDF support altogether.
