15. PCMark05 Benchmarks, Continued

PCMark05 Performance Benchmarks Conclusions

I've included all five of the PCMark05 charts, even though two of them don't apply to either the Toshiba Libretto U100-S213 or the Fujitsu Lifebook P1510D. PCMark05 could calculate no graphics score for either of these two laptops. The Libretto uses the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 controller which cannot perform all of the tasks required by PCMark05. The Fujitsu Lifebook incorporates the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900, which can perform all of the graphics tasks required by PCMark05. However, PCMark05 also requires a minimum display resolution of 1024 x 768. The Fujitsu's resolution of 1024 x 600 precluded the running of the PCMark05 graphics tests. When the graphics tests are not run, PCMark05 can report no graphics results. Without graphics results, PCMark05 cannot calculate the PCMark05 System Benchmark which is based on the other four tests.

As for the three benchmarks that could be run, the Libretto U100 did quite well on the CPU and memory tests. Its hard drive is pretty much equivalent to the drives in the other three computers. The U100's drive performed about on a par with the drive in its same-size-sibling, the Fujitsu P1510D and a little less well when compared with the Sony VAIO and Dell X1.
