MobileMark 2005 Battery Benchmarks Conclusions
The Toshiba Libretto U100-S213 performed less well than the three other ultra lightweight laptops on the MobileMark 2005 Office Productivity Performance and average response time benchmarks. The Sony and Dell laptops both had 1 GB of memory to the Toshiba's and Fujitsu's 512 MB. This accounts for the performance differences between the former two and latter two laptops. Remember that the Dell X1 has a 1.1 GHz CPU as opposed to the 1.2 GHz CPU in the other three laptops. The Fujitsu's average response time of 1.47 is close enough to the Toshiba's as to indicate no real difference between the two.
The Libretto U100 acquitted itself well on the battery life tests. Depending on the test, the U100 ran for 2.5 to almost 5 hours on a charge. With its 35 Wh battery it consistently delivered 66 to 75 percent of the battery life of the Sony TX670P with its 58 Wh battery.
You'll notice that the wireless web browsing test was not conducted on the Sony TX670P. Earlier wireless browsing tests on the very similar Sony T350P showed a battery life of 5 hours and 58 minutes. The TX670P should run at least as long.
