4. Accessories Aplenty

As for accessories, again iRiver hasn't held back. In addition to the transformer and battery pack we mentioned, there's a USB adapter for connecting external peripherals, an audio cable, a USB 2.0 cable and an elegant and very practical carrying case. On the other hand, there's not much in the way of software. The one that's included for encoding is no match for just about any shareware program available.

Conclusion

As you can probably tell, we were impressed by this product. In spite of the few points taken away for the less-than-perfect ergonomics of the controls, its sound quality, elegant looks and superb display make it a must for those who want to carry their music collection around with them. The price is obviously a little stiff, but it would have been hard to make it cheaper, and the quality-price ratio remains excellent all round.
