3. Conclusion

Some may feel that a lost phone is a lose-lose situation. I feel that there are many ways to combat the problem though. Insuring the phone is a bit of a poser: is it important to insure the phone if the phone will be replaced with the same model as what you had? After all, phones become outdated quickly. Service packages for reparable damage are a decent option but may not be necessary. If you're like me, the chances of your phone needing some kind of repair because of the way its used are not high.

I would recommend using the databases listed earlier to allow law enforcement agencies to track a lost phone and notify you if it is found. Keep a paper somewhere that has the serial numbers, model numbers, and SIM card numbers for your phones, so that if necessary you can let the police know.

All is not "lost." Protect your information, and rest secure knowing that you are prepared to deal with any situation that may arise from a phone that gets lost or stolen. And don't worry, insurance companies do cover liquid damage as long as it was unintentional. Be assured that there's a lot you can do when it comes to this kind of situation.

You're completely right about all of that. Great article!

One way I deter theft and increase security on my phone is by putting a Rewarding Return label on it (www.RewardingReturn.com) This label gives the finder as well as an incentive to return a lost phone to it's owner. It costs them nothing, and they'll even get a reward for returning it. I set mine to $100 b/c i DO NOT ever want to lose my phone....
