19. System Performance: Sysmark 2002
We ran the Sysmark 2002 application in combination with different power schemes. Using the "Portable/ Laptop" setting, the PowerNow function or the SpeedStep function is enabled, i.e., the processor decides how much power is currently needed by the application. In the next round we measured the "Always On" power scheme. In this case the processors always run at their maximum clock rate, so these results indicate the maximum performance of the system.

The basic figures from Sysmark2002 suggest that the Athlon System (S2010) is 23 percent slower (overall value).

On battery power, choosing the "Max Battery" energy scheme, the "speed advantage" of the S6120 is still 18 percent.
We'll just have to wait and see how much this "speed advantage" reflects (subjectively perceived) reality. Both machines are sure to provide more than adequate performance for daily office work.
