8. Reduce Office Clutter: Go wireless.
Need help getting through the work day efficiently as a telecommuter? Here are our suggestions for software, gadgets, places and techniques to be more productive.
If your home office is a tangle of cords and cables, you’re living in the Dark Ages. The newest printers and scanners are wireless, meaning you won’t have to trip to find your desk.
For a simplified space, use an all-in-one machine, like the Canon PIXMA MX870, a Wi-Fi-enabled printer and scanner. Even nearby smartphones and other devices can send documents and photos to the printer. Wireless printers are especially handy for families. Store the device in a common area so that others can print without disturbing you during work hours.
HP’s new web-connected printers are also a smart choice for the home office. If you have ideas on-the-go or work from other places, simply email the printer your documents. Printed copies will await you at home.
