Dell may be cutting more than the 8800 positions previously announced. In an effort to cut more than $3 billion in cost over the next few years, company founder Michael Dell said during an analyst meeting today.
According to an article published the Associated Press, Dell already has reduced its headcount by about 5500 since the announcement of the restructuring of last year (including new positions created in sales and customer support, the net cuts end up at 3200). 1000 more pink slips are being sent out during the current quarter.
