Ubisoft Working on Ghost Recon Movie Pitch

By - Source: VG247

Two movie deals aren't enough for Ubisoft. That's why Ubisoft Motion Picture CEO Baronnet is working on a pitch for Ghost Recon.

Ubisoft's made it clear in the past year that it's serious about its venture into moviemaking. It's managed to land Hollywood stars Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy for the lead roles in the upcoming Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell movies, respectively. Most impressively, Ubisoft is refusing to hand over its reigns on creative control to Hollywood, which is what made videogame movie flops like DOOM and Super Mario Bros.so absolutely awful in the first place.

And apparently, two ambitious videogame movies aren't enough for Ubisoft Motion Picture CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet. In an interview with the LA Times over Ubisoft's recent moviemaking ventures, Baronnet revealed that he was formulating a pitch for a Ghost Recon movie.

With some of Ubisoft's biggest intellectual properties in line for a transmedia makeover, gamers will have to cross their fingers and pray that Ubisoft's venture into cinema won't be something absolutely groan-worthy.

It'll be good if its not based on any of the future solider stuff. I'm thinking something similar to 'Act of Valor.'

oh and before anyone says why don't they make Rainbow Six...the r6 rights are owned by Clancy.

Am I the only one who thought Doom was pretty decent? It wasn't nearly as bad as the Super Mario Brothers movie.

I'm sure there will be a footnote somewhere along the lines of:

    "Requires Uplay to watch."

I bet they will ask the theatres to enforce "stay connected online" via your smart phone policy so nobody can screen record the movie via their smart phone.

when it comes to blu ray, i bet they will ask you to have ur blu ray stay connected online at all time as well.
