Samsung Galaxy 2 Has Snapdragon, Android 2.1
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy 2 will feature Android 2.1 and Qualcomm's 1 GHz Snapdragon.
So if you had the option to purchase a new smartphone, what would it be? Apple's iPhone? Google's Nexus One or another Android-based product?
According to Androphones, Samsung's rumored Galaxy 2 might be a good candidate, and could even pose a threat to the Nexus One and Xperia X10 when it ships later this year.
Anrophones claims that it has received the technical specs for the mystery phone, and if they're right on the money, the device will house Google's Android 2.1 operating system, powered by Qualcomm's 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. Other tasty features will include a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 MP camera, 32 GB of internal memory, GPS, WiFi, and more.
Additionally, an image obtained by the site also reveals a microSD card slot and a 3.5-mm audio jack. Of course, without an official announcement, all this could be mere rumor. However, Androphones believes that Samsung will officially announce the device at MWC in Barcelona next month. The smartphone may even ship sometime during Q2 2010.

If this phone indeed has 32GB of INTERNAL Memory, then we can say goodbye to small Android apps.
Sounds like the BOMB!
Waiting to see other specs, like bands, UI, and of course overall performance. This could give the upcoming HTC Passion a run for the money , if only for the huge internal memory upgrade.
yeah whats the deal with small ammounts of internal memory in these things? (ecept this one of course 32gig will be just fine).
I'm all for expandable memory with sd cards and whatnot, but I'd imagine a good amount of internal storage lends it as usefull as a storage device, as a replacement for the external hard drive or usb stick? can you use these andriod devices like that? just plug them in and they come up as a mass storage deivce? like good mp3 players that aren't apple itunes shit?

Really nice software, just have a try now.
yeah well who cares. verizon's prob not gonna get it anyway
After the poor support from Samsung with the original Galaxy I would stay well away!
It's the exact same thing as the Nexus one. Do we need 8 identical phones from diferent manufacturers?
It might be competition, but that competition sure isn't leading to innovation.

So what if Verizon doesn't get it, unless, of course, you are a complete, total Verizon fanboy. Then it would make a difference.

i have a family plan. to change to another provider i'd have to have everyone in my family change service. besides.. they do have the best coverage. not worth it for me..
i hate how they never get the latest/greatest phones though. only droid.

its a good thing this couldnt qualify as either. Droid is a nice phone but i returned it after 30 days. To much of a little gimmiky toy imo.
Sounds familiar. Wasn't there a similar device?
