3. The Modu Family
The Modu phone itself is tiny (it holds the Guinness world record for the lightest phone), so a jacket doesn’t have to be any larger than the screen and keypad require. The idea is to keep the price low; the modu itself costs $120 before any operator subsidy and jackets range from $25 to $75, depending on the size of the screen and the number of other features. Moran points out that for the $200 cost of many phones you can have three phones: the modu itself (which you can use without a jacket) and two jackets to put it in.
