HP TouchPad 7-inch Appears On Chinese Forum
The TouchPad might be (almost) completely dead, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of it.
It's been a few weeks since HP revealed plans to kill off the TouchPad and Pre lines of tablets and phones. In fact, HP was putting an end to all webOS hardware. Sadly, this means upcoming projects under the TouchPad or Pre umbrellas will never be seen. Or will they?
The following images recently appeared on a Chinese forum (page no longer available) and apparently show the unreleased TouchPad Go. You might remember the 7-inch Go better if we used its codename, Opal, which is what it was referred to when it was first talked about in the beginning of the year. Originally tipped for a September launch, we imagine the poor TouchPad Go was all but ready to be shipped when HP pulled the plug on the entire line.
According to This Is My Next, the poster of these photos claims to have had the device for the last three month. The device boasts the same 1.5GHz APQ8060 Snapdragon CPU, 16GB of storage, front camera and 1024 x 768 resolution as its larger brother, but the 7-inch model also boasts a rear camera as well as possible NFC support. The poster doesn't elaborate on where he got the tablet, and the thread is no longer available, so we may never know.

Pretty sure this "touchpad" is like the "Wu" to the Wii.
I'm trying to figure out why something (almost dead) allegedly posted on a forum in China is news in the U.S.?

not really, more like if it's outside the US, for the most part we don't care, don't be a hater
The Droid Bionic is faulty and emits a high-pitched noise when using the headphone jack. It is either due to lousy hardware (Motorola) or the lousy OS (Android). If you are in the market for a new phone, wait for the new iPhone in October; you will get much faster / more stable hardware and software.
Same thing..... You are on the internet.... It encompasses the world.... Accept it.......
Well the chinese arn't very credible... Bulldozer benchmarks anyone?
Of course it'll pop up in china....
They rip everyone off
This is what TouchPad should have been, maybe except the screen size. A rear camera and faster processor.
I like palm. I used to have it. I purchased 2. I couldn't stop looking at their catalog and drool. I remember that time. I think their apps are very solid. It's separated from one another and they really are essential. I mean droid is good but I find that it's kind of complicated. I like ipad but touch pad could be used for children's books. I think that amazon, ebooks, kindle would like to use their os better than driod. Droid has problem with streaming. It's like I have to turn the app off at some point. It's very annoying. It seem that some applications are on all the time and it consume so much memory. I believe palm is good at this. They must be low consuming in terms of memory. And, it's very simple and webos is the only true multi- tasking tablet of all. Ipad, and droid isn't. Once you use other app on, other apps stop working and some apps will even turned off. I find that unfair!
