Samsung Announces $1,000 'Luxury' Galaxy Tab
The Galaxy Tab might be the most popular Android tablet out there but it's missing a little something, isn't it? And by 'something' we mean massively inflated price-tag.
While most of us would consider the Galaxy Tab a luxury item, we're sure there's someone out there of the opinion that the Galaxy Tab is not a luxury item, but as common place as a cup of coffee. For him or her, there is a special edition Galaxy Tab that costs twice as much without offering much in the way of additional functionality.
This is Samsung's 'Luxury Edition' Galaxy Tab, which was (rather appropriately) unveiled at the Millionaire Fair in Europe. It's got the same 1GHz processor, 7-inch display and dual cameras. It runs Froyo (Android 2.2), has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and HSDPA. So what exactly is it about this Galaxy Tab that warrants a $1,000 price tag?
Rather than adding a ton of Swarovski crystals or adding gold accents to the Galaxy Tab to give it a more luxurious feel, Samsung has elected to throw in a couple of accessories instead. The Luxury Edition Galaxy Tab is so called because of the leather case and Bluetooth headset that come with it.
Phandroid reports that Luxury Galaxy Tab will be available only between December 15 and January 31. No word on American availability but pricing is set at €749, or $993.

My PSPgo can play PS3 games, though they're streamed over Wifi, and the input lag is too much for most games.
Leather case. Simple idea, but I still like it. However, my mother works with fine European leather occasionally, it's still not that expensive.
