BlackBerry Tablet Arriving in 2011?
There's new talk that RIM's rumored BlackBerry tablet will arrive after WES 2011.
Website BlackBerry Leaks is convinced that Research in Motion is currently working on a tablet. The overall rumor that the company was creating an iPad rival sparked from RIM's purchase of 8.9-inch displays from Hon Hai last month. But now unnamed insiders are confirming its development, and is said to be smaller and thinner than Apple's current tablet offering.
Going by the codename "BlackPad" or "Cobalt," the supposed upcoming tablet will have full BlackBerry OS compatibility however it's unclear what software will actually run the device. It's also speculated that the BlackPad won't see a retail release until after it's officially revealed at WES 2011. Unfortunately, no other details were provided, and as it stands for the moment, everything is speculated and unofficial.
It will be interesting to see how RIM can pull off a BlackBerry-based tablet. After all, it's approach is similar to Apple in regards to application restriction and security. It's presumed that a BlackBerry device would be geared towards the business sector given RIM's approach with its line of smartphones. This tablet may be more suited for large companies wanting explicit control over a device suited for high productivity rather than multimedia, gaming, and general entertainment. Although current BlackBerry devices do offer many apps for the general consumer, RIM's enterprise-based focus is clearly obvious to both the business and mainstream sectors.
As always, stay tuned for more in the coming months.

Please stop calling is the BlackPad. It sounds awful.
Blackberry Pie. Yum.
The codename BlackPad makes it sound like it's being engineered by Richard Roundtree.
They should stick with it.
Blackberry Blackboard
iBlackBerry
Ok, I can just see the marine corps with this years down the line, first there was the crackberry, then there was the crackpad.
If it is BB then I may be able to convince the boss I need one for work!
.
Blackboard
Clever name for it, in my opinion.
I wish MS would quit getting so bubbly on their interfaces to try and compete with Apple. I'm running Win7 and it looks like Windows XP and Snow Leopard had a baby.
Didn't I see the bandwagon already pass?
I hope to see "Lawsuits in Motion" get sued by apple. Karmic return for their past misdeeds...
Wow. By 2011 there will probably be an iPad revision.

I don't think RIM is worried about the iPad in that I think it will be geard towards the business market. My company would never put anything Apple on our network.
Not going to happen, RIM has already said that they weren't making a tablet.
I think RIM should work no releasing a touchscreen phone that doesn't suck before they jumbo size it and release a tablet. Their first two forays into the touch market were terrible. I bought and then returned both Storm's.
BerryPad?
Going with the theme of current BlackBerry users, I assume it will become the CrackPad.

Then switch to the classic theme... geez.. stop making urself look like a retard by insulting something that's so remarkable ie Win7.
The theme/GUI is great.. stop whining.

It's not a tablet if it competes with the iPad because the iPad is not a tablet. The iPad is a technological revolution set to change the way people do everything. At least that's what I read on Macworld...

Remarkable? Dude it's just an operating system, don't get so defensive.
