250 GB PS3 Slim Shows Up in European Store
Sony's PS3 Slim hasn't been in stores long but we've already heard European rumblings of a 250 GB version of the console.
Amazon.co.uk lists the item as in stock and its apparently arriving October 6. However Engadget has an image from an unknown European brick-and-mortar retailer that shows the console on shelves and ready for sale.
Still no word on a U.S. release but with more than twice the space, how many of you are holding out for a 250 GB version of the PS3 Slim? Let us know in the comments below!

I swapped out my 320gb for a 60gb OCZ vertex ssd, and put the 320 in an external chassis. I understand that for the average person, the price difference might be worth it, but anyone who can use a screwdriver can probably put in their own 250 for cheaper (if they use the same $100 price difference as they have in the past for the varying HDD skus)
I say just stick in your own larger hard drive if you're going to be putting alot of crap in your PS3. After all, you can certainly put in something larger than 250GB for less than $100.
Yup. A 500GB WD 25" drive will set you back about the same on newegg.
They're probably going to wait for the 250GB Xbox promotion to end before releasing in the US.
250GB PS3 - $455
250GB Xbox 360 - $399 with two controllers and a copy of Modern Warfare 2

I'll save my 500 dollars and buy a Radeon 5870x2.
Kthxbai.
My poor old PS3 is still chugging along with a 20GB drive lol I do not really need more since I keep my music and movies on other storage, I usually stream my media over my network... (I can cram a lot more TB's in my PC then a game console. Now if I could just figure out this FreeNAS thing then I would not have to stream off my main PC.
if i got a ps3 would I see a big difference by using a 5400rpm or a 7200rpm hard drive? that is if I take out the ps3's and put in one i bought off newegg.
I upgraded from 60 GB 5400 rpm to 160GB 7200 rpm. It's fine to go from 5400 to 7200 but there isn't any noticeable difference. I didn't do any benchmarks though - just everyday use gives no impression of a performance gain.

You enjoy that 1 card that's going to be need upgrading in a year. I'll take that full system with Uncharted 2.
I bought a 120gb slim on the 1st of october ans gamestation had the 250gb version on sale then, it was an extra £30 tho and I didnt wanna spend that much extra just for even more space that I would never use lol
