As a freelance writer, I do a lot of my work from home. Sounds dreamy, right? But it wasn't the most comfortable setup, especially at the beginning. However much I loved my 'soft office' – AKA working from my bed – I knew for the sake of my posture and for my sanity that I needed to create a working from home setup that suited me better.

Fortunately, there are plenty of things you can buy that will elevate your remote working setup ten-fold, whether that's investing in a desk and ergonomic chair, or a simple lap desk and a slick pair of headphones.
