West Texas is still a pressure cooker, and Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris is right in the blast zone. Toss in a chaotic ex (Ali Larter) and an ambitious son (Jacob Lofland), and you’ve got a full-blown powder keg.

Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s slow-burn saga digs even deeper into family, power and betrayal. In oil country, it's survival of the shrewdest — and someone's gonna get burned.

Picking up where "Merry Little Batman" left off, this new animated series trades “dark knight” for “dad night.” Luke Wilson leads the voice cast in a mix of superhero thrills and sitcom hijinks.

Bruce Wayne, his son Damian (aka Little Batman) and the ever-patient Alfred are doing their best to keep Gotham safe, while dealing with houseguests who are anything but ordinary: Alfred’s wild grandniece, a reformed villain and even Ra’s al Ghul playing doting grandpa. Fighting crime is a piece of cake compared to surviving family dinners.

Richard Linklater’s latest film is a sly, stylish riff on the birth of cool. Set in 1959 Paris, it reimagines the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless,” one of the defining films of the French New Wave. Guillaume Marbeck portrays Godard as a young director finding his voice, with Zoey Deutch as Jean Seberg and Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo.

Shot in black and white and echoing the jump-cut rhythm of its inspiration, “Nouvelle Vague” traces the moment when a group of restless filmmakers turned cinema inside out, and a new era of style, attitude and storytelling began.

Prime Video’s Playdate crashes together suburban parenting and spectacle in this action comedy. Kevin James stars as Brian, an out-of-work dad hoping for a chill afternoon tossing a football with his son and their new friends.

Enter Jeff (Alan Ritchson), the effortlessly cool dad at the park — who also happens to have a few dangerous secrets. One minute it’s juice boxes and small talk, the next it’s car chases and mercenaries. Think PTA meeting meets “Reacher.” Sometimes “playdate” means running for your life between rounds of tag.

‘A Very Jonas Christmas Movie’ (Disney Plus)

The Jonas Brothers are dashing through the snow — or at least trying to. In their first Christmas movie, Kevin, Joe, and Nick play themselves in a holiday misadventure that starts with a sold-out concert in London and spirals into a chaotic race to make it home to New York for Christmas.

Naturally, nothing goes according to plan. Lost passports, sketchy drivers and even a run-in with wolves turn their trip into a festive fiasco. With Chloe Bennet, a few surprise cameos and seven new Jonas originals, it’s a holiday road trip packed with laughs, brother bickering and Christmas cheer.
