The good news is that there’s no shortage of disaster films that scratch that same itch. Whether you're looking for terrifying waves or the possibility of a new Ice Age, we've found a few great ones that'll have you wondering how things could ever go on after these massive, life-changing events.
To help you decide what to watch next, we’ve picked out three movies like "The Great Flood" that are perfect follow-ups once you’re done with Netflix’s latest disaster spectacle. Try not to be too paranoid that any of these things will happen tomorrow.
'Deep Impact'
Travel back to the '90s for this sci-fi disaster flick that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Scientists discover a massive comet on a collision course with Earth and all hell breaks loose. As the government and space agencies race to mount a Hail Mary of an effort to destroy the threat, everyone on Earth is forced to reckon with wha could be their last days on the planet. It's also got a stacked cast: Robert Duvall, Morgan Freeman, Kurtwood Smith, Elijah Wood, and the list goes on. 1998 truly was a different time.

'The Wave'
This thriller follows a geologist (Kristoffer Joner) who realizes a massive rockslide could trigger a deadly tsunami in a small Norwegian town. When early warning signs appear, he races against time to let the community know before everything goes down. Unfortunately, he's unable to stop the massive wall of water capable of obliterating everything in its path.
It probably sounds like standard movie stuff, but the chilling thing is that something like this could absolutely happen. As the movie's promo text implies, "It's only a matter of time".

'The Day After Tomorrow'
The early 2000s brought us a bit of a different take on the meteor apocalypse and alien invasion flicks with "The Day After Tomorrow". Abrupt climate shifts trigger a new Ice Age across the globe. Huge storms and plummeting temperatures paralyze entire continents and society collapses into chaos.
How can humanity cope with a world now totally frozen, out of nowhere? Survivors who haven't yet succumbed to the cold struggle to keep humanity's lifeline going, but not before scientists work to answer one big question: What in the heck is everyone going to do after this?
