You can now get ExpressVPN for $3.49 per month and there are three pricing tiers to choose from

ExpressVPN, the best VPN, running on a range of devices

ExpressVPN has undergone a significant shake up of its VPN plans and now offers three pricing tiers – designed to suit a range of users.

The provider's higher price was always a significant drawback, especially when compared to other VPNs on our best VPN list.

But two-year deals now start at $3.49 per month and Basic, Advanced, and Pro plans are available.

All plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. All one-year plans come with an extra three months of VPN protection for free and all two-year plans come with an additional four months.

A minimum of 10 devices are protected on all plans – an increase from the previous maximum of eight – and some plans have free eSIM data and Aircove router discounts thrown in.

The three tiers at a glance

We'll explore each new tier in more detail below, but these are the best prices for each plan. You can delve deeper into how the new tiers compare to other VPN providers and what features are offered in our article announcing the new changes.

  • ExpressVPN Basic: 2 years + 4 months free: $3.49 per month (billed at $97.72)
  • ExpressVPN Advanced: 2 years + 4 months free: $4.49 per month (billed at $125.72)
  • ExpressVPN Pro: 2 years + 4 months free: $7.49 per month (billed at $209.72)

ExpressVPN Basic

The best ExpressVPN Basic price is $3.49 per month for 28 months of protection.

If you simply want a safe and secure VPN that's great for beginners and is one of the fastest VPNs we've tested, then ExpressVPN Basic might be for you.

You'll receive all the core VPN functions you've come to expect from ExpressVPN, such as the Lightway and Lightway Turbo protocols, VPN obfuscation, and its RAM-only TrustedServer network of over 3,000 servers worldwide – including one in every US state.

Your data will be protected by the highest standards of post-quantum encryption and ExpessVPN's rock solid privacy credentials.

There's protection for up to 10 devices – previously ExpressVPN only offered protection for eight – as well access to 24/7 live chat support. A 30-day money-back guarantee means you can try ExpressVPN out and claim a refund if you're not satisfied.

The tier system means you no longer gain access to the Keys password manager, threat protection, or ExpressVPN's Identity Defender suite as standard.

However, ExpressVPN has said DNS-based ad-blocking will be coming soon to ExpressVPN Basic plans.

If you're after these features then ExpressVPN Basic won't be for you. But if you're not, then ExpressVPN Basic is a good deal and brings its price much closer to that of its competitors.

Like all VPN providers, the two-year ExpressVPN Basic deal is the best value for money but one-month and one-year plans are available.

ExpressVPN Advanced

The best ExpressVPN Advanced price is $4.49 per month for 28 months of protection.

Of the new tiers, ExpressVPN Advanced is most similar to the old-style ExpressVPN plan. It includes everything the ExpressVPN Basic plan does, but with added extra features.

This bumps up the number of devices you can protect to 12, and you unlock the Keys password manager. You'll get Advanced Protection which includes an ad-blocker and can protect you from malware. There's also three days of unlimited holiday.com eSIM data.

You'll get access to some of the Identity Defender suite but not all of it. Identity monitoring, credit monitoring, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance is all included.

It's important to note that Identity Defender is a US-exclusive. If you're not in the US you won't be able to use it.

The Aircove router makes ExpressVPN the best router VPN out there and discount codes are offered with Advanced and Pro plans. The one-year Advanced plan comes with a 25% Aircove discount and the two-year plan comes with a 50% discount.

ExpressVPN Pro

The best ExpressVPN Pro price is $7.49 per month for 28 months of protection.

If you're after ExpressVPN's complete cybersecurity package then check out ExpressVPN Pro.

Everything from the previous tiers is included, along with a few extras. The device limit has been raised to 14 and you'll get five days of unlimited eSIM data rather than three.

The full Identity Defender suite is unlocked, adding monthly credit reports and data removal services.

ExpressVPN Pro's most unique feature addition is Dedicated IP. This is a unique IP address, set to one location, that only you can use. It's exclusively yours and allows you to change your IP address without having to share one with other VPN users.

Dedicated IP can be purchased as an add-on for Basic and Advanced plans, with prices ranging from $3.99 to $8.99 per month depending on plan length.

Whether ExpressVPN Pro is right for you depends on whether you're after a Dedicated IP – and if you're based in the US.

If you want Dedicated IP, it's a good deal as you're saving money. If you don't want it then you're paying more to unlock services you previously received for $4.99 per month.

If you don't live in the US then you won't receive any Identity Defender features. This therefore makes ExpressVPN Pro very expensive for what it is.

In terms of Aircove discounts, the one-year Pro plan comes with a 50% discount and the two-year plan comes with a 75% discount.
