Forget everything else — there's nothing that sounds like Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, and now they're $125 off this Presidents' Day

Sometimes, you want nothing but the best sound. And then you try all the traditional options, and nothing quite hits right. Whether it's too much bass or not enough, it can be impossible to find the right kind of nice-sounding earbuds.

And then I tried the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, and found the Goldilocks sound. The perfect mids, the just-so bass — everything falls into place. Unfortunately, such porridge tends to come at a very high price, but they're currently much cheaper thanks to Presidents' Day. The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 are $374 at Amazon after a $123 discount.

The Bowers & Wilkins don't just sound epic, they're also extremely comfortable for long periods of wear. The glass touch panels add an air of sophistication, and the ANC is plenty to block out loads of noise. They're not cheap, but this massive saving makes them a whole lot more affordable.

Look, I know they're not cheap. But the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 offers the best sound quality going — well worth dropping that cash on. And if you do, you're in for an in-ear sonic treat, dripped from the honey-soaked gardens of Mount Olympus.

They're some of the most detailed earbuds around, giving you glimpses into your music that would otherwise be very easy to miss. I've found bits of drum lines that I've only ever heard on far more expensive over-ear options, and wobbling bass that makes my brain shake.

In a good way. Good brain shakes.

You won't find any fancy extra settings here. There's no spatial audio or multi-channel EQ — just three bands of adjustment and a dream. But I've never had to reach for any kind of sound customization. They just sound great for any music I throw at them.

They're extremely comfortable as well, and, as you'd expect for such a high price, they're very premium-looking and feeling. Battery life is about par for the course with 6 hours on tap. For Android-using audiophiles, there's AptX Adaptive support so you can get some 'hi-res' wireless streaming on the go.

So what we have here are the sweet spot audiophile earbuds in every way except price. And that price just got lower — now's the time to drop the hammer.
