1. Archos' Latest PVR Tech Play
Personal video players are hot, while the market is getting crowded with the likes of Creative, Samsung, iRiver and legions of emerging Asian OEMs hoping to cash in. Archos, of course, largely laid the technology groundwork over a year ago for what has now become a commoditized market by combining a video recorder and an MP3 player together in single PDA-shaped device. So what does Archos do now?
Archos' latest AV 500 Mobile PVR allows you to record video from your TV, display images and listen to music - which certainly doesn't represent anything new compared to its predecessors. Instead, Archos attempts to bear down on the device's technical specs for improved video play and display capabilities.
