MobileMark 2005 Battery Benchmarks Conclusions
WinBook X610 performed just about as we expected. With its 1.6 GHz CPU, both its Office Productivity Performance Benchmark and Average Response Time scores fall about halfway between those of the HP DV4000 (2.13 GHz) and the four laptops (1.2 GHz).
Experience teaches that battery life is tightly related to capacity. The X610 11.1 volt 24 mAh 3 cell Lithium Ion battery, is rated at 26.6 Wh, about 25% of the HP Pavilion's much more powerful, 12 cell, 95 wH battery. That's why the battery life we measured of around 1 to 1.75 hours depending on usage scenario is rather more depressing than surprising. A more powerful battery would indeed add weight to the X610 package - but so does this configuration, which demands a second battery (6.2 oz / 176.3 g) to enable users to work for 2 to 3.5 hours.
