16. Display Brightness, Contrast And Uniformity, Continued

The WinBook X610's spatial uniformity of brightness plot.

The reasons for the WinBook X610's less than stellar display performance can be seen in the brightness and contrast graphs. The device's relatively low brightness of 110 cd/m^2 and poor contrast ratio of 70 account for the limited viewing environment we described earlier.

The spatial uniformity of brightness chart and plot show a fairly unevenly lit display. This also contributes to difficulties using the X610 under less than ideal lighting conditions. No matter how you adjust display brightness, parts of the display are likely to be either too dark or too light for optimal viewing.
