8. Routing Performance

Testing Notes:
All tests were run with Qcheck / Chariot TCP and UDP ports opened from WAN to LAN client running Qcheck console

Routing performance was interesting as you can see from the numbers above. Given the relatively low WAN-LAN throughput I ran some Chariot tests to investigate further, which were, once again, revealing.

Figure 8 again shows significant throughput variation, which I also found in the LAN to WAN direction. Although the average throughput should be adequate for most SOHO routing applications, I've seen faster and more consistent performance in mass-market routers costing far less than the 6tcw.
