Screen Brightness, Contrast And Uniformity: Conclusions

With a maximum brightness score of 335, the Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV513's display is very bright indeed. The display's contrast ratio of 450 is attributable both to the brightness of its whites (335 cd/m^2 average) and the darkness of its blacks (0.74 cd/m^2 average).

The G25's display has the brightness and contrast of a very good LCD television display, which, of course, it was designed to be. The display is perfect for working in various levels of room light, and even works well outside in light shade, even if you are not going to want to carry this beautiful monster around much. It goes without saying that the Qosmio's screen is perfect for viewing DVDs.

Based on both standard deviation scores for 64 brightness measures taken across their displays and a plot of these brightness measures, the Qosmio G25 exhibits very good spatial uniformity of brightness given its high brightness level.
