17. System Performance: Sysmark 2002
We ran the application benchmark Sysmark 2002 with various power schemes. In the setting "Portable/ Laptop," the SpeedStep function of the processor is activated, which means that the processor decides how much power is used, depending on the application. In the next test run, we used the power scheme "Always On." Here, the CPU always runs at maximum clock speed. Therefore, these scores indicate the maximum performance of the system.
And to wrap things up, we made another run using battery power and the power scheme "Presentation." Here, both systems run at minumum CPU clock speed.

Under Sysmark 2002, the Pentium-M is able to almost reach the scores of the Pentium 4-M in the Office Application Test, but it falls behind in the Internet Content Creation suite. The small amount of information we have about Pentium-M doesn't allow us any meaningful explanation of this occurrence.
