In both systems, PC2100 DDR RAM (CL2.5) is used, so the maximum memory bandwidth is 2100 MB/s. Here, the Pentium 4-M platform with the 845MP chipset chalks up points which could well be due to the L1/L2 cache clock frequency difference between the two CPUs.

The results here are not surprising. Because cache operations are always connected with the CPU clock, the memory bandwidth is also reduced with the the processor speed (power scheme Max. Battery or Presentation).
