13. MP3 Encoding: Lame

In this test we use the MP3 encoder Lame to encode a 178 MB WAV file in MP3 format in the DOS box. We measure the time the processor requires for the encoding procedure.

Here, too, the T40 with Pentium-M processor clearly outperformed the Pentium 4-M device.
